Butterfly Spinner Cards

Here are pictures of these interactive spinner cards I made recently with the Flight of the Butterfly Stampin' Up! Stamp set. I love this stamp set!!! This reminds me that I really need to figure out this video stuff because I would love to show you how this butterfly actually spins her wings side to side when you tilt this card. It looks like she is fluttering across the card! I made a total of 21 cards and sold them at a Relay for Life event in St. Augustine, Florida over the weekend. It was a wonderful opportunity to share my creations and 100% money went to the American Cancer Society.

CARDS IN HONOR OF CONOR!

Here are several cards I have made in special honor of our son, Conor. I'll start it with my favorite one which is his birth announcement using the Teddy & Train (item #115219) stamp set. The 3 eyelets, aka the onesie snaps, at the base of the onesie card were set using the Crop-A-Dial. This tool is amazing as it can circle punch and eyelet set through chipboard, tin, and multiple paper layers with ease. I love how the Conor name tags on the side of the onesie make it personal and these were easily done on our computer in a word document.
Again, using the Teddy and Train stamp set, these are the thank you notes we mailed out to our friends and family who spoiled Conor. The twill tape (item #105245) with the "Thank You" sentiment adds a soft touch to this card. I stamped "Thank You" in our chocolate chip classic ink to match the chocolate chip inked rattles in the background. The natural color of this twill tape works great as shown below, however, it can also be dyed with SU! classic refills for color coordination on your projects or you may decorate it with rub-ons. This tape lasts a long time as you get 9 yards per package with 3 yards each of 3/8 inch (used below), 3/4 inch, and 1-1/2 inch twill.
This is the card I designed for Conor's Baptism invitation. It is a very simple and delicate card. I love the chocolate chip and bashful blue color combination. It's so easy to color coordinate your cards and scrapbook pages as SU! offers cardstock, designer series paper, inks, ribbons, etc... in a wide range of their exclusive colors. And I could not resist putting an Irish Blessing inside the card for Conor's Baptism Day!

Birdhouse Card

Here is another card I created for our local SU! card swap. This card features items from our current Occasions Mini Catalog that is available through April 30, 2010. As you can guess, I love using punches in my projects, especially now since SU! has introduced a new punch style that offers a larger cutting area and a sleeker body. I also like the fact that SU! has introduced the Two-Step punch which allows you multiple images in a single punch! The Extra Large Two Step Bird punch used in the card below gives you the bird, wing, and branch all in one punch.
By the way, the Tiny Tags stamp set was also used in the above card. I prefer my rubber stamps on the good old fashioned wooden blocks, though SU! now offers the clear mount stamps to be used with their traditional foam and rubber images. It will only be a matter of time before I give the clear stamps a whirl. If you prefer the clear mount version, the Tiny Tags stamp set (item #118592) consists of 17 stamps and sells for $16.95 retail price averaging out to barely a dollar per stamp!

Flight of the Butterfly and Punches Galore!

This card boasts two of my favorite Stampin' Up! items which are 1.) the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and 2.) PUNCHES! This stamp set is very whimsical and coordinates perfectly with the butterfly punch. I folded the wings a bit and used a stampin' dimensional (which is a self-adhesive foam mount) to make this butterfly POP from the card. Other punches I used on this card are the ticket corner, scallop oval, and large oval. The thank you sentiment inside the scalloped oval is from the Oval All stamp set. I love how the punches and stamp sets go hand-in-hand with each other! Also, I used the Sanded background stamp to give this card a little rustic look.

Sweet Centers

These Sweet Centers from Stampin' Up! add a very sweet 3 dimensional look to your projects! Here are some sweet center treats I made for our nieces and nephews back around Halloween time. Also, SU! now offers heart shaped sweet treat cups in addition to these classic round ones.

Merry Christmas Card

The sketch of this card was the challenge for our local SU! card swap during the holiday season. I had a fun twist on this sketch and decided to make the 4 rectangles look like a window. You can see Santa's sleigh and his reindeer, along with the sparkly snow frost outside. On the inside, you can see 2 ornaments hanging including a joy sentiment. Most of the supplies I used to make this card were from the Holiday Mini Catalog including the Wandering Words stamp set, Delightful Decorations stamp set, Serene Snowflakes stamp set, Ornament punch, and the silver elastic cord.
